I have been buying in France now since 2006 but was buying in Sydney since 1988. I studied for 5 years at th University of Technology Sydney doing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Building, but my major project was on the conservation of Heritage Joinery, tying it into the family business. After finishing in 1992 I began to manage the shop full time until I closed the shop down in September 2004 to move to France and marry a French girl Isabelle Meyer, whom some of you have had the pleasure of meeting. We have purchased a house 5 minutes from the old city of Dijon, but better still 5 minutes away from three Auction houses, where I can attend and purchase some great antiques, furniture and objects of art and at really reasonable prices. I pack the container myself so I pack in a lot more than the normal carriers and the more I have imported in the one container, the better I can do on prices. Please note that if you are interested in a piece but it is too expensive for you then consider making an offer in the fourth week of John Meyer's French Antique Exhibition Sale.

Please note that if I have restoration done on anything, or I actually do work on the furniture since it has arrived in Australia, the prices may change reflecting that work. The restoration may include repairing, re gluing and/or polishing, etc. Although the prices should reflect the value of an item I endeavour to bring to you the best prices possible. I reserve the right to adjust the prices according to my experience. Often though I have sold the item and the customer has asked me for a quote to restore. While I am in the shop for 4 weeks I can take the time to do restoration work. But if my time is limited then I can out-source the restoration and with people whom I have used in the last 23 years. Often though it may only be necessary to bring a piece alive by some hard elbow grease using wax and four 0's steel wool and often the customer is prepared to do this!

All our clocks will have the indictation serviced or not serviced. We have a clock repair man who has worked for us over the last 40 years so we can guarantee that the clock will be in good working order. If you purchase a clock that is not serviced then we can organise the service via our service man for the price that he charges us and not more. Then when John is gone you will be able to receive the clock directly from him.

Bourgogne (Burgandy) is a region of France that Napoleon regrouped into four departments

l'Yonne (89), la Côte-d'Or (21), la Nièvre (58) et la Saône-et-Loire (71).

Dijon is located in the Cote-d'or department.
