About Us
Meyer's Secondhand and Antiques was established in 1966 in Sydney, Australia, by a Dutch cabinetmaker: John Meyer Senior, born April 23, 1925 and passed away on September 23, 2011. We were clearing deceased estates in the Neutral Bay area to the tune of 3 full houses a day. The shop was situated in the old Big Bear, originally a tramway station, with plenty of cheap space. Units were getting built and houses demolished. This, combined with the movement of people with little interest for their inherited furniture, allowed our company to flourish. "The amount of items that I saw, as a child, coming through the shop, would astound anyone who loves antiques.
